Death and New Life

Well, the last tadpole bit the dust last night. I really thought he was going to make it.

Oh well.

Alan callously tossed the corpse and his water out the front door.

Today, when we pulled in the driveway after church (which is very unusual...we typically park in the cul-de-sac since we leave about an hour after we get home to eat lunch with my parents), I happened to glance over and see this little fella.

And I mean little. His shell is about three inches from head to tail.

We saw a female (remember?) a few weeks ago and then a male last week (no blogging about that one...).

Evidently this is why we have had such turtle sightings lately.

A little baby!

Bless his heart, he was totally scared of us.

He peed on my hands (yum) right before this picture was taken.

You'd be surprised how much a baby turtle can pee.
