What a fun day! My friend Amy and I went to visit our mutual BFF Andrea in Raleigh.
Andrea is a survivor. She has gone through so, so much over the past five years, and I'm so proud of her.
She is a strong, Godly woman and has handled some of life's most difficult situations with a lot of grace and courage.
She is also newly engaged to Wonder Man.
Oh. My. Word.
Isaac is so kind and loving and gentle and funny and fun and TALL and romantic and cutie pie.
Oh - and fabulous at picking out engagement rings - WOW.
Her ring is amazing.
I could go on and on with how great he is, but then it would sound like I'm in love with him.
I'm just really, really happy for her.
My girl is so Smitten Kitten.
We got to her home and she had (surprise!) fixed this really nice lunch for us. The four of us spent some time just hanging out. And then we banished Isaac to the living room while Amy and I got a preview of Andrea in her wedding gown.Wow. Absolutely G*O*R*G*E*O*U*S.
Very classy and simple. Very Andrea.
Amy and Andrea and I get along so well. We have such similar personalities, but we each add something different to our mutual friendship. Amy is the whimsical one, and she's always seeing the silver lining. Andrea is the assertive but tender-hearted one. She is always getting to the heart of what's going on with you, and she has an elephant's memory for the details in your life. And I'm the silly, goofball, energetic one that's along for the ride one.

And we all created mottos for the day: Amy - "Being funky is fun!" Andrea - "Enter Swoozie's at your own risk!" Julie - "There's nothing wrong with cute!"
I like being such a girly girl, and I swear I have the best girl posse ever.
You are so fabulous and I can't tell you how much you mean to me. Thanks for coming up to spend the day with me. I know you have a super busy schedule and it means so much. Love you! Thank you for sharing our joy. We can't wait till Sept 20!
