Embarrassing, But I'm Willing To Confess

I love to read. Don't have as much time to do it as I'd like. So far this year, I think I have only read non-fiction stuff, which is really unusual for me. Give me good chick lit anyday (NO - not smut novels) such as what the authors at the side of my blog produce.

Anyway, I recently checked out (blushing now) "sTORI Telling", which is Tori Spelling's autobiography. I'm not sure what possessed me to read this. I guess it's just that I remember her from her "Saved By the Bell" days (Violet Bickerstaff!) and, of course, from BH 90210.

First of all - SHOCK - this must be the most poorly written book I have ever read, and I'm amazed that it was published as is. Girl is all over the place with timelines and events - back and forth all the time, which ends up being kind of confusing. And then the whole running theme seems to be: Poor Me Because I Could Never Be Who I Wanted To Be Because Of My Rich Parents Who Spoiled Me Far More Than I Ever Wanted But They Meant Well But They Still Scarred Me Anyway And Thank Goodness I Had My Nanny To Love Me And I Had To Party To Fit In And Don't Miss The Fact That I Am Truly A Victim In This Whole Saga. A few thoughts on this:
1. I actually think the reader is the victim.
2. Remind me when I write my autobiography to actually have an editor, my BFF, and then perhaps a psychiatrist take a look at it.
3. Whah Whah Whah, poor little rich girl. Cry me a river. Cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater.
4. Clearly writing and/or editing is within my realm if this is all you have to produce.
5. I think I really, really need to get back to reading something a little bit more intellectually stimulating.

  3. Ok..I too have read Storitellin..in fact I reserved it from the library and had to wait literally 4 months to read it. There are that many people in Wake Co. who also want to read it...sad..I know...
