Crazy Obsessed Girl

My family is suffering because of my latest addiction: ridding the woods of honeysuckle. I swear this is like a drug with me. It is so completely compelling to me to see the smooth, cleared areas and to discover what lies beneath the vines. I am spending hours (at least two) almost every day working in the woods. Which means that my house isn't getting cleaned and the [clean] laundry isn't getting put away except maybe once a week, and tonight it's just going to be barbeque night from Little Richards because I have no energy left to cook. Shhhh. Don't tell Dave Ramsey.

Alan said to me as he was getting gas for his mower, "you ought to pull the vines in the bed there." My response? "You go right ahead with that idea." Bless his heart. I think he thought he was being helpful. Or maybe he just thinks I'm nuts for doing all this work in the woods when several of the actual beds around our house look terrible.

I'm not sure how far I wanted to take this project when I first got started. The woods covers a good two-ish acre area. I'm not sure how far I want to take this project now. But there are definitely some terrific benefits:
  • the woods near our house are not as buggy
  • all woodland creatures are now able to be more visible (the snakes - ick - and the deer - yay!)
  • no more poison ivy
  • no more jungle-looking woods
  • one slowly getting toned rear end
  • a great play area for the kids

Now. How early can one really go to bed on a Friday night???

  1. You are so crazy--but good crazy. I bet it's good stress relief too. Sending good vibes for the poison ivy to stay away!

We can all be sweet and kind, yes? I am so thankful when my Wonder Readers share their positive thoughts with me!
