Six years ago today, at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, our sweet boy was born.
He has so much personality and is alive with energy, affection, and a wealth of knowledge! I love his dramatic personality. I love his almost constant cheerful outlook on life. I love how silly he likes to be. I love how he is so willing to help around the house. I love how he goes to the playground and instantly makes five new "best friends."
To this point, he has been our more reticent child. Learning to ride his bike - even with training wheels - has taken some time. But over the past year, he has bloomed past this fear. And I see this carrying over to so many aspects of his life. His extra year of preschool has produced a confident little boy who is a leader in his class.
Matthew, what a blessing you have been! What a precious gift from God! You warm our hearts with the sincerity of your prayers and bring us joy every day of your life with your generous, giving spirit. We're so proud of and thankful for the wonderful son that you are. To quote YOU, "you are my jewel, and I bury you in my heart," too.
We can't wait to experience this next year of your life with you.
Love, Mama and Daddy
Girl, I really can't believe that he's 6 years old. I can still remember coming to visit you in the hospital and watching the Survivor finale! God Bless Matthew this next year (and Matthew's mama!)
