Alan is very active in the Men's Ministry at our church. He has a passion (I hesitate to use that word in this post) to encourage men's relationships with Christ. For several years, he has lead a mens' discipleship group and has served as a part of the men's leadership. He has frequently ordered Christian books relating to men's ministry during the past few years from several different sources, one of which being the Christian Businessmen's Committee.
And so, he was on the list to receive this free book that came in the mail this week. It's really about accounts of "God's love and miraculous power at work in the lives of men associated with the Christian Businessmen's Committee International." It was originally printed in 1962, and is meant, I suppose, to demonstrate how this organization has been used to strengthen mens' relationships with Christ. I'm not actually sure Al's really going to read this.
But, oh my word, every time I see the cover, the title TOTALLY cracks me up. Am I being too irreverant?? I'm afraid my hubbers thinks I am a bit, but he did admit that "it is an unfortunate name."
