Ahhh. Vacation! The past couple of months have been kinda all-consuming with the changes around the house, and while it's all been good for the most part, it's still emotionally tiring. And eating C.R.A.P. [gold star to the blog reader who can guess my Junk Food O' Choice first!] all the time does not help with the energy level. Monday I am definitely starting to eat healthier. Definitely Monday. 'Cause I'm on V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N. this weekend!!
Alan ended his previous job on Friday a week ago, and he decided to take a week off before starting Dream Job. It's been nice to have him home this week, although I think he's getting a smidge too comfortable in the House Hubbers role. Both boys have Fall Break yesterday and today. And my schedule is so flexible that I was able to finish up with my precious speech babies by noon yesterday. So off to the beach we flew!
[Side note: I wore this great orange shirt that Alan got for me last year to work this week. The shirt is totally orange and has a typical, smiling jack-o-lantern face on it. And it totally scared one of my little speech babies. She took one look at me and burst into tears. I don't typically have that affect on my children. Now I've caused her to need another type of therapy.]
We got here about 6:45 pm last night, found our room, upgraded to a larger, much nicer room, went to the water park, ordered pizza, talked hubbers out of attending a timeshare meeting, watched tons of cable TV (a treat since we have the most basic cable package at our home), and floated off to dreamland (the boys in their own room and us in ours). Great evening!
Notice how this post is lacking in pictures? That would be because my precious CAMERA chose not to vacation with us and is cozily hanging out with Su Su and Otis and Chester (the piggies) and Sam (the hermit crab) at our home. Boo, indeed! :( Also, notice how I don't even mention that I intentionally put it beside the boys' bags so that when Alan put them into the van, he could put the camera in at the same time? And, notice how I'm not mentioning how I had already discussed bribery with my kiddos so that I could try to take some decent, more formal pictures of them while we are here? What a sweet, forgiving, not-bringing-up-sins wife I am!
Thank goodness I own Photoshop and can just superimpose our faces on other people's beach pictures, right?
Stay tuned for further beach adventure updates!
Cheeeeeeeeeeetos. Gold star for me.
ReplyDeleteWell, well, well. Cheeeeeeeeeetos it is not. My dear Hill and Home friend, you should know that I adore the Doodle (as in, Cheez Doodles). But the gold star winning answer is a bit more seasonal this time. Keep guessing!
