I Think I Saw Jesus in the Lazy River

Does that sound like a title of a country hit or what?? But more about that in a minute.

Well, it's been a really fun weekend so far. We've gone out to the beach several times. The boys have been wearing their swimsuits and getting wet, but I am just fine with shorts and a t-shirt. Especially after eating at least four bags of candy corn this season. Monday the workouts begin - I promise!!! We went down to the pier at one point. The boys ran around and splashed and dug up sand fleas with Alan and collected shells, while I hunted for shark teeth. You know, that is truly one of my favorite things to do in the world. It's interesting - some trips to the beach I find a ton and sometimes it is hard to find any. This is one of the hard-to-find-any trips, but I have probably collected about 10-15 so far. Still fun to look and sometimes - like today - I end up hunting with another Shark Tooth Fiend. Matthew was very willing to dig up sand for us, and then the other man and I would quickly search as the tide came in and washed the sand. Not very successful, but fun and relaxing for me.

Last night was the B.E.S.T., though. Alan found out about this place a little more inland that is a dinner and show called "Medieval Times." Y'all, it was awesome (and I hardly ever use that over-used word, but it sooo was)! It is inside a castle, and once you walk up the drawbridge you feel transported back in time. We all got [paper] crowns and were escorted to our seats by a "serving wench." We feasted on tomato bisque (scrumptious!), baby dragon (chicken), dragon fingers and toes (pork rib and half of a potato), and a dragon scale (apple ) popover - all without silverware - while we cheered on the evil green knight in the jousting. Yay! I loved being on the bad guy's team. The boys were captivated the whole time. Pricey, yes. Enjoyable, infinitely so.

Today we've been taking it easy. Honestly, I'm having a tough time dragging my hubbers away from the wealth of cable we are experiencing. I can understand, though, since I have quite been enjoying the marathon of "Ghost Hunters" on sci-fy. After lunch I took the boys down to the water park in the first floor of the hotel by myself while Alan cooked up his Amazing Spaghetti that we'll eat for supper after trick-or-treating (YES! We're sinners who celebrate this holiday!) later tonight. At one point Matthew and I were floating around on a tube when we came face-to-face with a man who looked just like this:
Y'all, I am not even kidding. He looked more like Jesus than this picture of Jesus. Well, now that's not even true because this is clearly Caucasion Jesus (which sounds like Malibu Barbie, but you know what I mean) and obviously the REAL Jesus was Israeli Jewish Jesus. Anyway, this dude looked like a walking version of this portrait that we all had in our Sunday School rooms growing up. I about fell off my float when I saw him, and then I couldn't stop staring. He was probably wondering why the pudgy girl on the tube (alright - it's been FIVE bagsof candy corn, OK? MONDAY!!!) kept staring at him. I saw no baptisms occurring in the River Lazy.

So, now it's time to go assemble a Scarecrow and a Cowboy Sheriff. This is one of those moments that I'm kicking myself for not double checking that the camera got packed. I could make a little joke here about looking for a Camera Miracle from Lazy River Jesus, but I do believe I have already been sacreligious enough. Happy Halloween, y'all!

We can all be sweet and kind, yes? I am so thankful when my Wonder Readers share their positive thoughts with me!
