My New BFF (sorry Andrea and Kelly)

So. I used to be a very organized and neat and tidy person.

And then I got married. And still was organized and neat and tidy, but somewhat less so.

And then I had kids. And I was still kind of organized and neat and tidy with one son.

But then I had another.

And forget it.

I am still more organized than I think I am,

but neat and tidy, and especially clean have really gone out the window.

My name is Julie. I live in a dirty, messy house.

Until today.

OK. No. I am still messy, but not quite as dirty, thanks to my new Hoover Steamvac.

We are having house guests this coming weekend, and there is nothing that gets you to clean your house like overnight guests, you know? And I definitely wanted to clean the carpets in the room they will be sleeping in (the new dino room!), and then things kept rolling from there. I've cleaned both bedrooms upstairs, the hallway, and have migrated down the stairs now. In the past, I rented a Rug Doctor from the grocery store or borrowed my sis-in-law's (hi Shannon!) steam carpet cleaner. But, enough with the renting, and Shannon has been awfully patient with my tardy return policy. Plus, we track dirt in all the time and need to clean our carpets more than we do. And paying a company to come and clean our carpets is not the lap of luxury that I am currently living in.

Hence, the new addition to the family.

And, oh, do my carpets look brighter and less stain-y and spotty and smell fresher and no more red clay stains or questionable stains from previous owners or stinky pet stains.

So, when Jason and Kelly and Matthew (hi Kelly - that is, if you're still reading after the title) arrive this coming weekend,

they can expect to eat all of their meals off of my amazingly clean carpet.

And then I can promptly clean it right back up.
